The Foundation has instituted scholarship awards of excellence at the six IITs in India. These scholarships at IITs are the beginning of a new scheme of identifying and supporting bright students within the Country.
The award is given after ascertaining the student’s performance in academics as well as other extra-curricular activities and his/her overall attitude. The selection is done by a suitable approved Committee of IIT faculty, with a member of Inlaks Foundation as a Special Invitee, after personal interviews with the shortlisted candidates.
The award covers all normal expenses of the awardee in residence, including the tuition and maintenance fees (in the range of Rs. 50-55000/- per year). Continuation of the scholarship depends on continued good performance and in academic terms, the awardee is expected to obtain a CGPA of 8.5 or above at the end of each year’s examination. Failure to do so will result in discontinuation of the award; no exceptions are made in this.
